For employers & relocation agencies
IN SHORT
Insurance for international hires starts before day one: new employees need health insurance from their first day – often before their visa is issued and long before payroll is set up. We take these questions off your desk: we contact every new hire within one working day, explain the German system in their language and arrange the right cover in time. Free of charge for employers and relocation agencies.

Why international hires need help with insurance
For HR teams, the questions come at the worst possible time – between the signed contract and the first working day:
- The visa needs proof of health insurance – before the person has a German employer contribution or a German address.
- Public or private? Highly paid specialists can choose – a decision with long-term consequences that HR should not advise on.
- Family members – spouses and children need cover too, and the rules differ between public and private insurance.
- Gaps and double cover – travel insurance from home, incoming insurance, German insurance: getting the timing right avoids costs and problems with the immigration office.
- Liability and other essentials – landlords often ask for liability insurance, and new arrivals rarely know what they need.
Every unanswered question lands in your inbox – or delays the start date. The official portal Make it in Germany explains the basics; the individual decision still needs personal advice. That is where insurance for international hires becomes a service your company can offer.
Insurance for international hires – what we do
| When | What we do |
|---|---|
| Before arrival | Health insurance for the visa: incoming insurance or private cover from day one, with the confirmation the embassy and immigration office need |
| First weeks | Public or private health insurance – a neutral comparison in the employee’s language, including family members (see our Health Insurance Guide); for public insurance via our partner Techniker Krankenkasse |
| Settling in | Liability, household contents and other essential insurance; rent deposit guarantee instead of three months’ cash deposit |
| Later | Disability insurance, pension and investing, property – one contact for everything, as long as they stay in Germany |
| Leaving Germany | What happens to insurance and pension when the assignment ends |
One contact, many languages: we advise in English, German and Turkish – and all documents are also available in Traditional Chinese.
How the partnership works
- Short intro call. 20 minutes to understand your hiring plans, nationalities and typical start dates.
- You introduce us. Add our contact to your welcome pack or onboarding email – or send us new hires directly with their consent.
- We contact the new hire within one working day. By video call, phone or WhatsApp – before arrival if needed.
- Cover is in place on time. We send the employee the confirmations for visa, employer and payroll.
- You stay informed – only with consent. On request, we confirm to HR that insurance is arranged; we never share personal details without the employee’s consent.
For HR departments
- Fewer insurance questions in your inbox and no risk of giving advice you are not allowed to give
- Reliable start dates – no delays because of missing insurance confirmations
- Optional: online or on-site welcome sessions “Insurance in Germany in 45 minutes” for groups of new hires
- A fixed contact person who knows your company and your processes
For relocation agencies
- A reliable partner for the one topic relocation agencies cannot cover: insurance
- Fast response for urgent visa cases
- Clear handover: you take care of housing, registration and schools – we take care of insurance
- Your clients receive advice in their language, and you receive feedback on progress if they agree

For more than ten years we have been supporting internationals in Germany – engineers, researchers, doctors and their families from all over the world. We know the questions of fast-growing tech and semiconductor companies in Silicon Saxony as well as those of universities, research institutes and hospitals, and we work nationwide by video call.
Frequently asked questions
What does the service cost our company?
Nothing. There are no fees and no contract for employers or relocation agencies. If an employee takes out insurance through us, we are paid by the insurer.
Do you share employee data with HR?
Only with the employee’s explicit consent – for example a short confirmation that health insurance is in place. Health information is never shared.
Can you help before the employee arrives in Germany?
Yes. Most of our work for new hires starts before arrival, when the visa requires proof of health insurance.
Do you only work in Dresden?
No. Our office is near Dresden, but we advise nationwide by video call and phone.
